I've seen DISM run without elevation before and it obviously can't do anything. ![]() This is a stupid one but make sure you're running CMD as an administrator. The upgrade was still working for me a few weeks ago even though we're past the official date. This is still true even though MS now recommends the upgrade instead of the full install. There may be corruption or bad settings that carry over. If you really have corruption issues bad enough to thwart both, you might be looking at a system restore (reset, save files).Ĭontrary to what the other commenter said, upgrading to 10 is not guaranteed to cure what ails you. If it is, try using sfc /scannow from an elevated prompt before you use DISM again. If it turns out it can't fix what's broken, it will often tell you. DISM can take a really long time sometimes. If your Windows image is unserviceable, the DISM (Deployment Imaging and Servicing Management) tool can help you fix the issue. ![]()
